Satellite TV on Computer
I knew my dish was gonna have to go when my Dish network stopped right before the big game.
I was really looking forward to seeing it, but with only half an hour left until game-time I had no TV.
I had recently moved the receiver, but I can’t understand how that should be any reason for reception to not work.
I started googling and scrambled for a web service that would be hosting the game. That’s how I found out about getting TV on my PC.
If I had heard of this option before I would have saved a bunch of money in cable and satellite subscription fees. For a very small investment, you can get all those TV stations, plus many more, right on your PC.
If you’re like most people, you spend hours on your PC. If one of my favorite shows are on the tube and I am doing some work at home, I either take the laptop to the lazboy (incredibly uncomfortable), move the TV into my work area or listen from the other room. (yay TiVo!). With TV on your PC, I can watch whatever I want while working on other things from the comfort of my computer chair.
There are a couple of ways you can go to watch TV on your laptop. You can locate no cost service or you can get a purchased system.
Free programming is available so you can see the programs you want. Web sites like Hulu let you view shows and streaming videos that are there especially for online viewing. Such sites do show some network tv, but show limited recorded shows.
Some services permit you to get to several more channels, and they can be accessed live. For these you will need to buy a application and that’s it. No monthly fees, no statements, no penalties for early termination, no dishes to move! If you compare these systems with costly monthly systems such as dish or cable, you’ll find that the television on PC systems have benefits in excess of those of satellite. These offer better cost, usability, channel availability and reception.
TV on my PC systems give you similar functions you like on your reception – you can even save programs to watch at your convenience.
I did manage to locate the game on the web, but the program took about half of my monitor and was extremely hard to see. I knew right there that I would not go without another game, and not pay another cent to the cable provider.
